hatch22

been wanting to try hatch22 because of the great reviews so i was really looking forward to it. let's just say that the bread basket didn't disappoint. being "ofws" my friends and i enjoyed all the local breads. but as far as the other items, particularly the breakfast choices i wasn't impressed. i thought they could be much better.

bread basket

lechon kawali?

tapsilog

crispy corned beef

waffles...only D liked this because she likes eggy waffles. if you like the liege ones you will be disappointed.

bgc: niu by vikings

i haven't been to any vikings branch including yakimix. oh yeah i've been missing a lot in the manila food scene. when i read about niu by vikings though, i was really fixated. maybe because of the higher end options that they offer. plus i like the fact that they have added services like a sit down wait service -  they bring your ordered food to the table or you can also ask them to bring you food if you are too lazy to stand up hehe, i also know that they customize food as well, if you request it.

assorted dimsum and sashimi...pretty decent ones

tempura and turkey...i lurve turkey

foie gras...they serve it with a crostini but i requested sans the bread :D

roasted pork belly and roast with truffle gravy...noms

thai grilled squid tentacles and i forgot what the other one was lamb chops me thinks

risotto with foie gras...i didn't see this! the waiter mistakenly delivered it to our table and we helped ourselves. this is good.

my personally made halo halo..i love leche flan!

pretty good pinoy snacks - kutsinta which is a sticky rice cake and pichi pichi which is made of cassava dredged in cheese...yums

krazy garlik

oh this was one of those random choices because my friends and i are so famished. i couldn't think straight then and just chose this at random. food is decent, i don't have any complaints except that the veggies were a tad sweet which was kinda weird.

fancy drinks forgot the flavors already
the veggie that was a tad sweet

bangus belly

crispy pata

project pie

so finally got to try project pie. love the fact that you can customize your pizza and they have a wide array of toppings to choose from. i love the thin crust but the price tag is a bit hefty.

a combination of classic ingredients i made for my dad

not a typical pizza i had ricotta, artichokes, italian sausage, roasted peppers, caramelized onions and mushrooms plus fresh basil

bgc: greeka kouzina

my dad loves greek food and been reading good reviews about greeka kouzina that i got so excited when they opened up in sm aura, which was more accessible to us. i wasn't impressed, i was expecting an out of this world experience but imho cyma's is much better.

one of my all time favorite mezzes is baba ganoush this is the greek version with feta

salad forgot the name with balsamic dressing and shaved parmesan cheese

moussaka...is a must for my dad. but again this doesn't pass. i don't think any resto has passed his standards.
lamb shoulder - this one of their bestsellers but left me unimpressed but it was really tender

this is their grilled chicken kebab forgot the greek name :D

forgot the name of this pasta dish but it's with cream and arugula

bgc: phat pho

love vietnamese food, and phat pho had good reviews so my friends and i opted for it to try. oh gheez, totally disappointed with this place. it didn't help that my friends just came from vietnam so the benchmark for vietnamese cuisine was a tad higher then.

fresh shrimp spring rolls

bbq pork spring rolls

spicy pho - can't remember the name

up town center: shrimp buckets

expect some wait time in shrimp buckets especially during peak hours. when they first opened up, no one was eating and my mom was so sympathetic to them she felt bad people weren't eating there including us (well i had a list of must try places and they are not on my list then), but apparently kris aquino featured them and now they are always packed. but food is really really good. worth the calories!
